Report: eBay’s Russian office to develop business in 120 countries

MOSCOW, Feb 14 (PRIME) -- A Russian office of U.S. online auction giant eBay will develop the company’s business in 120 countries of Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, Rambler News Service reported Tuesday, citing the office’s head Ilya Kretov.

“The Russian office of eBay has become a hub for 120 counties since January 2017,” Kretov told reporters.

Angola, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Lithuania, Norway, Somali and Tunisia are among the countries.

The Moscow team, whose staff of 15 people will not grow, will be responsible for development of exports, increase of the base of active buyers and expansion of cross-border operations, the executive said, adding that eBay receives over 50% of incomes from beyond the U.S.

The office will be also in charge of adaptation of products for local buyers and interaction with state authorities and partners on sites.
